That delay matters, because perimenopause isn't one experience — it's a shifting hormonal pattern, and the pattern you're in tends to shape what actually helps. Some women are dealing with oestrogen swings that spike before they crash. Others are dealing with a more gradual decline compounded by an already-stretched stress response.
